Joe Thompson – London jazz pianist, film coach, piano teacher and painter.

Piano player, collaborator, film coach, piano teacher

“Joe Thompson is a unique and special musician who brings a magic and story to every piece he plays.

As a singer I have felt like I could fly when I sing with him. He has a way of getting right into the heart of the song, drawing out every emotional tug that makes those listening escape from their world and lose themselves in the magic.

I have never met anyone like Joe and he’s simply just the best!”

I play piano in bars.  My most popular show, “A Life in 32 bars”, which I hope will be a book one day,  is all about the bars of music I have played in bars.

Not just any bars, in London’s very best bars, either solo or with the very best musicians on London’s jazz scene, or accompanying the very very best of the West End’s musical theatre stars, in bars. It’s best that way. They let me do my thing.

When The Ivy invited me to ‘join the club’ and host their iconic piano bar back in 2008… I had no idea I’d still be there so many years later.
